Woman uses escalator as treadmill, gets hand caught in mechanism

Want to join a gym but put off by the high membership fees? If so, you might want to avoid following the example of a woman in Guangdong Province who ran into a spot of bother after using an escalator as a makeshift treadmill.
Security footage at a shopping mall showed the woman attempting to exercise by walking up a down escalator on August 1.
In the video, the woman can be seen happily stepping away up the escalator, until she loses her balance and gets her hand caught in the mechanism of the mechanical staircase.
Fortunately for her, the escalator stopped automatically and she suffered only minor injuries.
