Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi will visit the United States from Feb. 8 to 9, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced on Monday. His visit comes at the invitation of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, said Geng.

Yang served as China’s ambassador to the US from 2001-2005.
