China has developed several new types of high-tech unmanned equipment that include drones and solar-powered vessels. A new drone with fixed wings has made a great breakthrough as it can cruise not only during the day and night but also land with a parachute in case of emergency. Another unmanned vessel powered by solar energy can be piloted automatically with the Beidou navigation system. It can be used for topographic surveys, monitoring ocean water quality and the ecological environment and patrolling along the coast.
