John Gong, a professor at the University of International Business and Economics, gave CGTN his perspective on China-US cooperation in e-commerce. 

Gong said the current trade model is undergoing tremendous change. Direct trade between producers and consumers across the world based on e-platforms is rapidly growing. There is a great potential for China and the US to seek cooperation in this field, especially for American small- and medium-sized enterprises, which can benefit greatly through e-platforms due to fewer trade barriers and transaction costs.
