Hunchun, a city in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in northeast China's Jilin Province bordering Russia and the DPRK, is a major natural habitat for wild Siberian tigers. On July 16, the dawn was broken by a roar. Locals in Hunchun's Lishugou village found a cow dead near the woods. “We bought the cow last year for 20,000 yuan,” said local cowherd Jia Cunzeng. “I feel depressed.”
