In the besieged southern Philippine city of Marawi, government forces on Sunday managed to rescue several civilians, including one infant during a temporary ceasefire with militants linked to ISIL.
However, local officials believe up to 1,000 civilians are still trapped in the crossfire. The month-long battle has seen some 350 people killed and nearly a quarter of a million displaced.
Fighting resumed shortly after Sunday's eight-hour ceasefire expired. Fighting was halted to allow local residents to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
