Pakistan's military said at least two civilians were killed and three others suffered serious injuries along the Line of Control (LoC) in unprovoked firing by Indian army in Kashmir on Saturday.
Both Pakistan and India claim Kashmir as their own territory. LoC is de facto border, which divides Kashmir into India and Pakistan controlled parts.

Pakistan's Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said that Indian army fired small arms and heavy weapons including mortars along LoC in Chirkot and Satwal sector, adding that Pakistan Army troops effectively responded to Indian firing.
ISPR pointed out two individuals including a girl and three citizens were injured.
Indian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Mehta responded that Pakistan army started the fire in the early hours of morning and Indian forces retaliated.

Both sides have accused each other of resorting to "unprovoked firing."
Although two sides signed a ceasefire agreement in November 2003, repeated firing along LoC broke out with both sides reporting deaths or injuries with civilian causalities.
