The People's Liberation Army Air Force turns 69 years-old this Sunday. And on the last day of Airshow China 2018, the Air Force put on a grand show to mark the occasion, sharing some exciting news in its latest development. CGTN's Sun Ye reports from Zhuhai.
The mighty J-20 Stealth fighter, in a new line-up and with a fresh paint job, opening the cartridge for the first time ever. It's all for this special day, as the PLA Air Force celebrates 69 years of operations.
XU ANXIANG LIEUTENANT GENERAL, PLA AIR FORCE "Having the J-20 here today in its new formation shows it now has Initial Operating Capability. And opening the magazine mid-air means it's good for mounting missiles."
Then there is the Air Force's world touring performance team. Pulling all kinds of seemingly impossible stunts to show their incredible skills and confidence.
SUN YE ZHUHAI "What a show! Some 80,000 have turned up for this birthday extravaganza. And the spectators are all saying the same thing."

"Stunning! I feel a lot of pride for the Air Force."
"So proud of what our air force has done, and what the country is capable of."
The Air Force has brought its strongest arsenal to the country's biggest air show. Showing its growth, the air force has ambitious plans for its future.
XU ANXIANG LIEUTENANT GENERAL, PLA AIR FORCE "By 2020, the PLA Air Force will enter the initial stage of what is known as the strategic air force. Then it will keep developing its force systems scientifically. And by 2050, our Air Force will be among the world's best strategic Air Forces."
And take to the air, in stride.
