XU XINCHEN BEIJING "International communities are responding to the airstrikes in Syria carried out on Friday by the US, Britain and France and many are voicing their strong oppositions. While the United Nations failed to adopt Russian-drafted solution to condemn the strikes in Syria, China upholds its opposition. on Monday, the spokeswoman for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hua Chunying, reaffirmed China's stance against using military forces to solve issues without thorough investigation and she said that the airstrikes in Syria are against the basic principles of international laws. She said that the UN charter has made it clear for when to use military forces and this is not the right time. Hua said that while China opposes any use of chemical weapons, the US, Britain and France are jumping to conclusions without firm evidence. The spokeswoman also said that political settlement is the only viable solution to solve Syrian issues. US President Donald Trump announced that the US, along with Britain and France, has launched precision strikes against the Syrian government on Friday evening. The strikes aimed to deter the use of chemical weapons but some condemned that the US and its allies have no proof."
