Experts are weighing in on the China-US trade tensions. Hong Kong economist Liao Qun said a trade war will create a lose-lose situation. He says "it will cause huge damage to the Chinese economy, and the US economy. It will also hurt the Asian economy and the global economy because we are in an era of globalization".
Bloomberg believes Beijing and Washington don't really want to bring each other to heel, but to the negotiating table. A senior analyst from the Chicago Board of Trade is disappointed by the developments, saying "Lose the market in China, we are going to see our prices plummet, and it's really hard on our economy."
A Professor from the University of Bridgeport says, "The people who will truly suffer are American farmers and factory workers, the people President Trump claims to be helping."
