In Egypt, a special research center was recently opened in Cairo's AIN Shams University in cooperation with China's Renmin University. Its focus is on finding ways to strengthen relations between China and North Africa under the framework of the Belt & Road Initiative. Yasser Hakim has more.
The Belt and Road Initiative Research Center in Cairo is tasked with building bridges between both countries. Feasibility studies, investment opportunities and research studies are part of its activities.
From here comes the book "Egypt and Belt and Road Initiative" written by Amr Ammar, a renowned academic scholar.
AMR AMMAR AUTHOR "I was extremely impressed by the initiative launched by the Chinese president. For two and a half years of research and after reading 17 Chinese books, I came up with a strategic vision on how to make optimum use of the Belt and Road initiative. I see it as the better alternative to western globalization. It will benefit our world especially Africa."
Amr Ammar's book has become a source of information for several Chinese companies that invest in Egypt.
AMR AMMAR AUTHOR "This research has been a major guideline for Chinese companies that want to invest in the Suez Canal on the east Mediterranean. The Suez Canal is a unique spot on the belt and road and now hosts a large Chinese logistical city and industrial zone. Our research points out how the transfer of Chinese technology and industry to Egypt will be of great benefit to both China and Egypt."
The Belt and Road initiative Center is encouraging researchers to produce more studies about the Belt and road initiative as demanded by officials and investors.
YASSER HAKIM CAIRO EGYPT "The success of the book and the Center is a reflection of the huge influence that the Belt and road initiative is having on the Egyptian economy and the policies of the north African nation. Yasser Hakim, CGTN, Cairo."
