The security of the facial ID on Apple's iPhone X has been called into question by a Chinese woman who said that her phone was unlocked by an unrelated colleague using the recognition feature.
The woman, identified by her surname Yan, told a local TV reporter that she recently bought two iPhones that Ms. Wan was able to unlock.

Yan, who hails from Nanjing in east China’s Jiangsu Province, said the first time she reported the matter, Apple store staff said the camera might be broken and gave her a refund. But Wan was also able to access the new iPhone X that she bought.
Apple reportedly responded that the case was an individual one. But the same thing apparently happened again when the journalist offered a third phone.
It is generally accepted that Face ID is convenient for users, but concerns over privacy and safety remain very real.
