Beijing Times, one of the most prestigious local newspapers in China, ceased its print edition on the first day of the new year after 15 years of publishing.

The decision was made after chronic money hemorrhage caused by shifts in market demand and the rise of new media, said the paper in a statement released back in November.

Reporters, editors, and photographers have been taking pictures in their offices over the past few days to commemorate the last moments of what they used to consider their second home.
