Tiger is roaring again.
Yes, you have read it right. The golf legend, who hasn’t touched any silverware for more than 900 days, is well poised to end the long-standing drought.
The former world no. 1, who has been a shadow of his former legendary self since undergoing a spinal fusion surgery last April, is just two shots off the lead at the halfway stage of the Valspar Championship at the Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor, on Friday.
Making only the fourth start of his latest comeback, Woods shot a three-under-par 68 that left him two strokes behind leader Corey Conners of Canada, who hasn’t registered a single win on the PGA Tour.
Even though the 42-year-old carded his lone bogey of the round at his final hole, an upbeat Woods told the PGATour.com, "I'm up there.”

“I've done that from tournament to tournament. I just need to get a little tournament time in and I think I've done that,” added the optimistic golf icon, who is ready to give a shot at redemption with two more rounds to go.
The eventful Friday day saw the tournament losing two of its biggest names with world number four Jordan Spieth (71) and four-time major champion Rory McIlroy (73) missing the cut.

As the resurgent American golfer is gearing up for the US Masters, to be held from April 5-8, a long-awaited win in Florida will surely act as a morale-booster for the 14-time major champion.
Incidentally, Tiger's resurgence came a week after 47-year-old Phil Mickelson ended his drought with a win in Mexico.
