Antoine Griezmann scored the first goal ever in Wanda Metropolitan Stadium as Atletico Madrid inaugurated their new home with a 1-0 win over Malaga Saturday night.
The result leaves Atletico third in the Spanish La Liga table, while Malaga has no points from their first four matches of the season.
"I am very happy to score the first goal in this magnificent stadium and hopefully many more will come," Griezmann said.

Griezmann scored after 61 minutes following good work from Angel Correa, although Atletico keeper Jan Oblak also had plenty to say on a night which began and ended with celebrations to commemorate the first game in the 70,000 capacity stadium.
Ernesto Valverde's substitutions worked to perfection as a flat Barcelona came back from a goal down to maintain their 100 percent record with a 2-1 win away to Getafe.
A crowd exceeding 63,000 witnessed the inaugural match in the stadium on the outskirts of the Spanish capital.
In 2015, China’s Wanda Group bought a 20-percent stake in Atletico in 2015 and it will pay the Madrid club nearly 12 million US dollars per season for naming rights on the new stadium over a period of 10 years.
