National Basketball Association: Spurs hold team meeting over Leonard's absence
[]
Over in the NBA, people keep asking, what is going on with Kawhi Leonard? The former Finals MVP has only played 9 games this season for San Antonio due to a quad injury. Reports claim he has been medically cleared to play, but is not suiting up. There seems to be tension with the team, as last week, long-time Spurs veteran, Manu Ginobili says he doesn't believe the former 2-time defensive player of the year will play this season. And another report, this one from ESPN claims the squad held a players only meeting imploring Leonard to play. It's uncertain when, or if, Leonard will play again this season.
As for games Thursday, James Harden scored 10 of his 21 points in overtime, as Houston rolled to their seventh straight win beating Detroit. Philadelphia picked up their fifth straight "W" by topping Orlando. Charlotte smashed Memphis by 61, the sixth-largest winning margin in league history. Kemba Walker had 48 in the triumph. New Orleans tops the Lakers, the Pelicans erasing an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Utah won for the 22nd time in 25 games by edging Dallas. Atlanta fell to Sacramento in a game delayed almost 20 minutes, due to a protest outside the arena over the shooting of an unarmed black man in the area recently.
