A Thai driver was killed and 17 Chinese tourists injured after a tour bus crashed into a utility pole in Thailand on Friday.
The bus, carrying 35 Chinese tourists, was travelling from Krabi to Ban Tha Noon pier when the accident happened at around 8 a.m. local time.
Initial investigations suggest the accident was caused by driver fatigue.
The Chinese embassy to Thailand has urged local authorities to take measures to prevent any similar incidents.
Since the week-long Chinese New Year holiday begun on Thursday, millions of Chinese have traveled abroad to celebrate the festival.
