Up next is Asia Focus. Thai officials have recovered the Phoenix tour boat that sank in rough weather off the country's resort island of Phuket, killing 47 Chinese tourists. The boat was brought to the surface on Saturday. It was raised from the 45-meter deep sea floor by a crane ship, operated by a salvage company from Singapore. The Phoenix will be towed into a pier in Phuket, where the police examination of the wreck will take place. Our correspondent Martin Lowe has more.
The ghostly shell of the doomed pleasure boat Phoenix begins its final journey.
Lashed to a barge, what remains of the vessel was being towed back to land - vital evidence in a police investigation.
It followed the eventual raising of the boat after four months on the seabed, following its sinking in a fierce storm here, off the coast of Phuket in July.
Forty-seven Chinese holidaymakers drowned. A Thai diver died earlier in the operation to raise the boat.
MARTIN LOWEPHUKET "This is one of the biggest investigations into a tourist tragedy ever mounted in Thailand. Thai authorities want to demonstrate they're doing everything they can to ensure all the circumstances of the sinking are examined."
The Thai minister of tourism came to see progress. Tens of thousands of Chinese visitors cancelled holidays in Thailand after the tragedy and the authorities are desperate to win them back.
WEERSAK KOWSURATTHAI MINISTER OF SPORTS AND TOURISM "The investigation will help both the Thai and Chinese governments give answers to what caused this incident. I believe those answers are what people in China are waiting for."
The forensic examination of the Phoenix will take place ashore - to determine whether the boat's seaworthiness was a factor in the disaster. Many are waiting eagerly to find out exactly what caused the tragedy – and such great loss of life. Martin Lowe, CGTN, Phuket.
