The assembly of a giant flower basket at Tian'anmen Square came to an end Sunday morning for the celebration of the upcoming National Day holiday which starts on October 1.
With a height of 17 meters, the giant basket, which is themed "blessings to China" and decorated with fruits for the first time, has taken workers more than six hours to assemble.
Prepared by a 3D printer, parts of the flower basket have already been assembled before being transported to Tian'anmen Square. Before the upper part of the basket jointed with the base, workers had to ensure that each flower and fruit in the basket were perfectly presented.
The upper part of the basket weighs around 50 tonnes. It needed two 200-ton cranes to work at the same time and coordinate.
It took more than 800 workers eight days to complete the giant flower basket.
