Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Beijing on Wednesday.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Premier Li reiterated China's support for a political settlement to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution. He also gave China's support for an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with Israel, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Abbas, on Tuesday, met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, who pledged to make "unremitting" efforts towards promoting peace in the Middle East.
