Firefighters rescued a driver from an overturned truck laden with exploding fireworks and firecrackers on Sunday in Changde city, central China's Hunan Province. The accident happened in the afternoon, when the truck turned on its side in Luoxian village. The truck's cabin caught fire, causing the fireworks and firecrackers to ignite. The driver, thrown out of the truck, was trapped between the vehicle and a roadside mud slope. Firefighters dispatched a crane to help lift the truck before they pulled the driver out from beneath the truck. The driver was sent to hospital immediately for further treatment. The fireworks and firecrackers kept exploding for nearly five hours, before the fire was finally extinguished.
