The 15th China International Film and TV Program Exhibition is currently underway in Beijing.
Over 300 media companies from 50 countries are showcasing their best TV shows, films, and animation until tomorrow. Hosted by the China Media Group, this year's event focuses on how Chinese media has transformed in the digital age, both through increased use of new technology as well as collaborations with new partners. Experts say with Chinese films and TV series gaining popularity overseas, the event serves as a platform for media companies from around the world to network as well as exchange views on improving storytelling with emerging technologies.
REN XUEQIAN BEIJING "Last year alone, around 900 Chinese films and TV shows were exported overseas. Such a move fuels China's initiative to further globalize its cultural products, echoing the government's plan to instill greater cultural confidence among its people. Organizations such as the Film Import and Export Association as well as the Belt and Road Media Community, expected to help China achieve these goals by improving cross-cultural communication and understanding. Experts say China is set to become the world's number one film market and producer by 2021. And exhibitions, such as this, is just one example of how China is embracing its lofty position in the global market. Ren Xueqian, CGTN, Beijing."
