Costumes, guitars and jewelry of pop star Prince will be the subject of a new exhibition, debuting in London's O2 arena in October.
The My Name Is Prince exhibition fetes the 10-year anniversary of Prince's record-breaking run of 21 straight sold-out shows at the O2 in 2007, and marks the first time since the singer's death they will leave his former home.
"This is the first time we've taken any items out of Paisley Park," Prince's sister, Tyka Nelson told media. "I'm so excited to be able to meet the fans and share their Prince stories and give them hugs, and have a cry with them if need be."
Nelson added that by staging the exhibition, she is aiming to fulfill her brother’s wish of opening up his world to the public: “It was always his wish to make all of the material made public, and I will do everything in my power to make sure his wish comes true.”
From world-famous items such as the orange Cloud guitar from his 2007 Super Bowl halftime performance or the purple jacket and ruffled shirt from the "Purple Rain" tour, to never-before-seen artifacts taken from Paisley Park, his estate outside Minneapolis, the display will offer an intimate look into the legendary performer's life.
Prince died at the age of 57 on April 21, 2016 at his Paisley Park residence.
