Now to the World Cup, with Germany clearing a major hurdle to stay in the competition. They defeated Sweden with a score of 2-to-1, thanks to an epic free-kick. While South Korea lost out to Mexico by 1-to-2. And it was a feast of goals as Belgium bested Tunisia. CGTN's Dan Williams reports on how fired-up fans were in Moscow.
Match day at Moscow's Spartak Stadium. Tunisia may have lost their opening match against England but their supporters were confident their team would secure a shock victory over Belgium, one of the favorites for the tournament.
"I would say Tunisia is going to win. I know it is going to be a hard game. But I believe in us. I think we are going to win today."
"The underdog will win today. We are going to come out on top. Last 16 baby. We love you Tunisia all the way I love Tunisia, I love Tunisia!"
Having won their opening match against Panama 3-0, Belgium supporters were also certain there would only be one winner. And although Belgium fans appeared to be outnumbered they could at least call upon a superhero fan if required.
"Belgium team is better because I am here to push my team to victory and Belgium players are one of the best in the world."
"It will be 2-0. It will be one goal from Lukaku and one from Hazard. Two-zero big win of Belgium of course."
At the official FIFA fan park fans from all nations gathered to watch the match. And they were treated to a ruthless performance by Belgium who went on to crush the north African side 5-2. That's now eight goals scored by Belgium in just two World Cup matches.
"It was one of the best games I have ever seen. It was quite exciting."
"In 2014, we were expected to be one of the winners but I didn't believe that because we were a young team. But now, the players matured and they are good. We have a chance to win it."
DAN WILLIAMS MOSCOW "So Belgium are starting to live up to their billing as one of the tournament favorites. Their next match against England should provide a much tougher examination but for now, for their fans, it's party time."
