Chinese cultural exchange fair arrives in historic Egyptian city

A Chinese cultural exchange fair has been launched in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, as part of a scheme aimed at fostering closer cultural ties between the countries.
After its successful launch in Cairo, and more than a thousand Egyptians gathered in Alexandria to watch performances by the Xinjiang Performing Arts Theater.
The Experience China Culture Exploration of West China-Xinjiang showcases the best in dance, music and natural beauty.

With Egypt's rich history, the two countries hope to use the event to foster closer cultural ties and boost their economies through tourism.
"We are very happy to hold this cultural exchange event with China, because Egypt and China all have the splendid civilization and long history. During this event, we will hold various cultural exhibitions and performances. I hope to hold more events between China and Egypt in the future," Mohamed Sultan, governor of Alexandria Province, told CGTN Africa.
The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the largest administrative division of China, and the eighth largest country subdivision in the world.
