In 1998, President Xi Jinping, then deputy Party chief of Fujian Province, led a campaign to eradicate poverty in Ningde Prefecture in the northeast part of the province. Today, his goal is to ameliorate China to be a well-off country by 2020. CGTN correspondents visited a village in Ningde, to explore how farmers see President Xi Jinping.
