China's Hainan Airlines has announced direct flights to New York from the southwestern cities of Chongqing and Chengdu.
The Chongqing-New York route, scheduled to launch on October 20, would be the first direct connection between China's southwest and New York, said the airline.
The carrier will start a non-stop flight between Chengdu and New York on October 16.
The two routes would strengthen tourism, economic and cultural cooperation between China and the United States, it said.
Hainan Airlines currently operates 12 direct routes between China and North America.
