President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday, beginning a new US effort to revive Middle East peace efforts.
The 36-year-old real estate developer arrived in Israel early in the day to join Trump’s special envoy to the peace process, Jason Greenblatt. Kushner will spend around 20 hours on the ground before meeting Netanyahu for their first formal discussions on peace. He will then travel to Ramallah, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, for talks with Abbas after Iftar, the evening meal that breaks the Ramadan fast.
