Founded in October 1925 in San Francisco, the China Zhi Gong Party is mainly comprised of overseas Chinese who have returned to the mainland, relatives of nationals living abroad, and those with close connections with overseas Chinese. In September 1949, Chen Qiyou, the representative of the China Zhi Gong Party, attended the first plenary session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), to participate in the formulation of the Common Program and the election of the Central People's Government. It was a positive contribution to the victory of China’s New Democratic Revolution and the founding of the People's Republic of China. The party’s 15th National Congress concluded in Beijing on Tuesday. Wan Gang has been elected chairman of the 15th Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party.
