This year's World Robot Conference is seriously highlighting the advances in robotic dexterity. Natalie Pang is here with a closer look at just what robots can do these days including fixing you up a drink.
The moment our bread pops up from the toaster. We've started to accept the fact that machines will do things for us. Some robots can do this. Some can do that. Some are even smarter. These bots are coming to life at the annual World Robot Conference in Beijing.
YIN ZHICHAO SALES MANAGER, HIT ROBOT GROUP "This bartender robot can make dozens of cocktails with 10 base wines. It's very fast and it can make a ready-made cocktail in one minute. The main markets for our bartender robots are bars and large commercial complexes."
They're not limited to making drinks. These bots can be found in assisting doctors in hospitals or under the sea. With a speed of up to 10 knots, the shark-shaped robot surveys heat, salt and noise levels, as well as magnetic waves. And if those bots are not amazing enough. Then this bionic flying fox, which moves via a fixed track using a motion-tracking camera, will definitely leave an impression.
LIU FANG CHINA MARKETING DIRECTOR, FESTO "When the Robotic Flying Fox Bat is flying on a fixed track and has to adjust the route due to a barrier or accident, the robot will send a signal to the central computer. The central computer will then give feedback to optimise and adjust the track in real time."
A helping hand, a tour guide or even just an entertainer. Who knows what else these robots can be in the future? Natalie Pang, CGTN.
