China’s top political advisory body to start annual session in Beijing

The First Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will start at 1500 BJT (0700GMT) in Beijing on Saturday.
Wang Guoqing, spokesperson for the First Session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, said on Friday that the main agenda of the session is to listen to and discuss the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and a report on the proposals from last year's session.
Also, political advisors will elect the body’s new leadership, as well as discuss and adopt an amendment to the CPPCC charter at the session, which is set to conclude on the morning of March 15.
