China's Political Season: World leaders congratulate Xi Jinping on election

Xi Jinping was elected president of the People's Republic of China, and chairman of the country's Central Military Commission on Saturday. Leaders from around the world continue to send Xi messages of congratulations.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the election demonstrates the confidence people have in Xi's leadership, adding Xi will lead China to achieve its great rejuvenation and promote global peace and justice.
DPRK leader Kim Jong Un said he hopes the Chinese people continue to make great achievements in building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. He said he believes bilateral ties will develop to benefit the two peoples.
Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen spoke highly of the achievements China has made since its reform and opening up four decades ago. He added he hopes to see China continue to do more.
President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa said he believes China will be a more prosperous, and stronger country under Xi's leadership.
