Meanwhile, Najib and his wife have been banned from leaving the country as the new Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed is seeking to re-open a corruption investigation involving him. RIAN MAELZER KUALA LUMPUR "An apparent manifest for a private jet went viral Friday night, suggesting that Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor were set to fly to Indonesia Saturday morning."

Najib tweeted that they wanted to take a short overseas break after a bruising election campaign. An angry crowd gathered outside KL's second airport Saturday morning fearing Najib and Rosmah aimed to flee the country to avoid facing possible charges. The immigration department then announced it had blacklisted the former PM and his wife, barring them from leaving the country, Najib quickly confirming the news. Najib later called a press conference to announce he was quitting as head of his party and alliance.
