After their talks, CGTN asked Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong about China's vision and plan for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation's Beijing Summit this year.
Chen Xiaodong said after 12 years, Chinese and African leaders will gather together in Beijing again to discuss cooperation plans. This will further strengthen China-Africa cooperation in the new era, reiterating that China attaches great importance to its relations with Africa.
“President Xi and President Geingob said that China and Africa have always been a community with a shared future. So in our foreign relations with Africa, we will continue to uphold the principles of sincerity, practical results, affinity and good faith, and strike a balance between interests and justice. Africa will always be our good friend and good brother. We will find better synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative, the Africa 2063 Agenda, the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Nambia's Harambee Prosperity Plan to achieve win-win cooperation. Our goal is to forge a closer community with a shared future between China and Africa. We believe that with joint efforts, the Beijing Summit will be another historic event that helps strengthen China-Africa solidarity and deepen China-Africa Cooperation," Chen Xiaodong added.
This year marks the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Namibia. The two leaders agreed to elevate China-Namibia ties to a comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership, under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and make all-out efforts to ensure the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation a great success.
