China is set to build a state-of-the-art broadcasting facility in South Sudan. At a cost of over one-hundred million-dollars, the PROJECT will include television and radio studios for South Sudan's Broadcasting Corporation. CGTN's Patrick Oyet has more details.
South Sudan Broadcasting corporation currently runs on only one studio, meaning it has to shut down in the case of technical hitches.
But that's about to change as China has completed preparation to build modern Television, Radio studios and offices for it. Beijing will also provide equipment for the offices and studios.
CAI SENMING, ECONOMIC COUNSELLOR CHINESE EMBASSY "Broadcasting facilities is a very important project, Chinese government is providing grant to build this structure we hope for a very good cooperation with South Sudan's government represented by the Ministry of Information, communication technology and postal services."
The Chinese team of engineers who will construct the complex have completed a study of the area where the building will be erected and completed designs for it. The team of engineers will now return to Beijing to make final preparations to start the work before the end of this year. South Sudan's government says China is further helping in media development in South Sudan by providing training to the country's media personnel.

South Sudan's media remains in its infancy, with only one television station accessed across the country.
