At least 34 people have been killed in a bus crash in Ankazobe, 70 kilometers northwest of Madagascar's capital Antananarivo, AFP reports.
The bus carrying worshipers plunged down a steep valley at around midnight on Monday.
"We were 140 people onboard of a big bus. We are members of an association of young Christians and we were on the road to attend a pilgrimage in Mahajanga on Wednesday, when the drama happened," a witness told media.
Preliminary investigation shows that the bus, licensed to carry about 76 people, had 140 people and luggage on board.
