HK lawmaker fined $640 for desecrating flags

A lawmaker from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) was found guilty on Friday of desecrating both the Chinese national flag and that of the Hong Kong SAR and fined 5,000 HK dollars (640 US dollars).
The lawmaker, Cheng Chung-tai, had turned the flags, which were displayed by other lawmakers, upside down during a legislative meeting on October 19 last year.
