North China Integration: Beijing-Hebei-Tianjin rated as most dynamic economic zone in the north
[]
Let's learn more about north China.
Beijing, Hebei and Tianjin are close neighbors. The region covers an area of about 220 thousand square kilometers. That's two percent of China's territory. The population reached 106 million in 2017. Figures showed the combined GDP last year amounted to more than eight trillion yuan, accounting for 10 percent of the whole nation's economy. The newly designated Xiong'an New Area covers around 100 square kilometers. A little more than one million people live there. Officials say the zone will eventually expand to 2-thousand square kilometers.
