The 3rd Guzhen International Lighting Culture Festival officially kicked off on Sunday, offering visitors a feast of light and sound in the town of Guzhen – dubbed “China's lighting capital” – situated on the northwest edge of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province.
Jointly organized by the China Lighting Industry Association and the Guzhen town government, this year’s giant light show has the theme of "dream of light", and has thousands of splendid light exhibits and immersive interactive lighting activities that reflect the rich culture of both the creative lighting industry and lighting resources in Guzhen.

Wetland Park is one of the highlights among the venues for the 2017 lighting carnival in Guzhen. The park will be converted into a dreamland expanse of greenery replete with ecological, water-themed lighting installations to demonstrate the power of nature inspired technology. Located in the north of the park, lighting installations shaped like lotus leaves in different colors are planted in the pond, reflecting the serenity of this ancient town.
Also, visitors can immerse themselves in a beautiful symphony of music, water and light that is powered by advanced lasers, fountain jets and 3D visual projectors. The Wetland will be transformed into a bright wonderland that fuses fountains and music with a choreographed light show to create a grand party scene.

The Lighting Culture Festival will also use a specially-themed lighting show to highlight the synergy of combining lighting with the prevailing culture. This will include a festooned vehicle cruise, a concert on the sand as well as the Liufang Yunlong traditional dance – a state-level intangible cultural heritage with more than 300 years of history that will be performed for visitors.

After more than 30 years of development, the small town has become the world's largest light manufacturing and sales center. In 2016, Guzhen manufactured around 50 percent of lights sold worldwide, exporting products worth 370 million US dollars.
The 2017 Guzhen Lighting Culture Festival has fully combined light art displays and projection-mapped artwork with its own culture, offering the public a enthralling time in a gorgeous world of lights.
