More than one thousand delegates are gathering in the South African city of Pretoria for a conference on gender violence. They are trying to tackle the scourge faced by many of the country's women and girls. For more on this, let's go to my colleague Lindy in Nairobi.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has vowed to fight gender-based violence at all levels to create a safe society for women. The president was speaking at a two-day summit taking place in Pretoria, three months after a mass march. Activists handed a list of 24 demands on the agenda which took centre stage at the summit. CGTN's Julie Scheier has more.
