The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday continued its contact with the Republic of Korea (ROK) through a reopened cross-border communications channel.
At about 9:30 a.m. local time Thursday (0030 GMT), the DPRK put through a call to the ROK, according to Seoul's unification ministry.
It came after the DPRK made a similar call on Wednesday to check whether the line was operational.

The DPRK said via the hotline that it had nothing to report but would contact the ROK if there was any information to relay.
The border hotline between the two Koreas was reopened for the first time in nearly two years after the DPRK shut it down following Seoul's decision to close down the inter-Korean industrial zone in the border town of Kaesong in response to Pyongyang's fourth nuclear test.
Seoul proposed to Pyongyang on Tuesday that both sides could hold a senior-level, inter-governmental dialogue on Jan. 9 to discuss the DPRK's potential participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics which are scheduled for February.
DPRK leader Kim Jong Un said in his New Year address that his country was willing to send a delegation to the Games.
