China's air force has conducted multiple training exercises in the sea this week, with formations of H-6K bombers and other fighters flying over both the Miyako Strait and the Bashi Channel, air force spokesman Shen Jinke said on Thursday.
Shen made the remarks at a press conference in response to recent reports that the H-6K bombers were trailed during training.
Shen said the exercises are not aimed at any specific country, region or target, adding that the goal is to test the air force's battle capabilities over the sea.
In accordance with international law and practice, the exercises are lawful, reasonable and fair, Shen said, adding that such exercises will continue.
