The US Navy announced on Friday that it has suspended search and rescue operations for the three sailors who became missing after a US Navy plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean on Wednesday afternoon.
A C-2A "Greyhound" aircraft carrying 11 people went down in the Philippines Sea after takeoff from Japan, en route to the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier.
According to a statement released by US Seventh Fleet, the operations ended at 10 a.m. Japan Standard Time on Friday.
Eight other people, who were rescued shortly after the incident, are in good condition, said the statement.
