Eight shot dead inside Texas home, suspect killed by police

At least eight people are dead, two others injured after a shooting at a home in a Dallas suburb on Sunday evening. The gunman was shot dead by the police who arrived on the scene later.

Police said the gunman opened fire at around 8:00 p.m. local time, when there was reportedly a party to watch a Dallas Cowboys football match. A single officer went into the home and was forced to open fire, killing the suspect, according to investigators.

“I seen a man argue with a woman. They were standing outside and they’re arguing. The woman was trying to go back in and as she was going back in the house you seen the man pull out his gun and starting just releasing. He just started letting them go. It was an automatic. You could hear it go off multiple times, you could hear it just ring off,” a witness told a Fox News affiliate.

It was not immediately clear why the gunman opened fire or his relationship to his victims.

An investigation is ongoing.
