Last session before the 13th CPPCC held in Beijing

Led by the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng, the National Committee of 71st Session of the 12th CPPCC, the country’s top political advisory body, was held this afternoon in Beijing.
The top political advisor complimented the efforts made during the last five years.
“The members of the CPPCC has been closely and tightly around the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Comrade Xi,” Yu said. “We should continue adhering to the leadership of the CPC and the two main themes—solidarity and democracy.”
He was selected to present reports on the work of the standing committee during the upcoming 13th CPPCC’s 1st session, which will have its grand opening on March 3. Vice chairman of the 12th CPPCC Wan Gang was elected to talk about the working situations of the proposal.
Wang Guoqing, current deputy director of CPPCC External Affairs Committee, was selected as the spokesperson for the session to be held on March 3.
A dozens of drafts were passed during the session. Drafts on presidium, permanent chairman, host of the presidium meeting, as well as the secretary and vice secretary of the first session of the 13th CPPCC, just to name a few, were all sent to the first session of the 13th CPPCC for approval.
