ATP Rotterdam Open: Federer overwhelms Dimitrov 6-2, 6-2

Over to tennis, where Roger Federer was looking to punctuate his return to world number one. The 36-year-old ensured he would once again be the top-ranked player with his performance in the Netherlands at the Rotterdam Open. The Swiss plowing through the competition en route to the final, and he would look to emphasize his rise to the top in the title contest against Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov, a player that Feds had never lost to in six previous meetings.
The 20-time grand slam winner is in white at the bottom of your screen and is already up a break in the opener, when he fires a backhand winner into the open court, en route to winning the set 6-2. Dimitrov tries to stay competitive in the second and is able to move the Swiss around the court in the third game of the frame, and powers home a winner, as he holds.  
But everything was going Federer's way, leading 4-1, the new world number one, gets lucky as this return hits the net, setting him up for an easy winner.

And victory is claimed on the next point, with a volley winner at the net. Federer rolls to a 6-2, 6-2 win and his 97th career title. Federer will officially pass Rafa Nadal as the new number one, when the rankings come out later today.
