At least five people have been shot dead in Nairobi while police dispersed thousands of opposition supporters joining a rally to welcome their leader Raila Odinga. Clashes between opposition supporters and police have become commonplace after Kenya’s dispute over this year's presidential vote. Human rights groups estimate that close to 50 people have been killed in election-related violence.
