Staying with China-U.S. trade issues. The Trump administration was expected this week to unveil its list of Chinese goods targeted for American tariffs.
US officials said the list would include up to 60 billion US dollars worth of imports from China, mostly from high-tech sectors. Consumer goods including clothing and footwear could also be included. Trade officials say that the tariffs may need more than two months to take effect. Meanwhile, American trade officials said some of the tariffs would also likely target top-end products from China's "Made in China 2025" program. Analysts say that's to punish Beijing over its technology transfer policies.
