Al Hilal's Omar Khribin was rewarded Player of the Year at the AFC Annual Awards ceremony in Bangkok on Wednesday.
China’s SIPG striker Wu Lei, Khribin, and Omar Abdulrahman all received trophies as nominees before the winner was announced. And it would be Syria's Khribin claiming the trophy.
The striker has performed heroics for both Syria and Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal this year as his country only exited the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Asian Qualifiers following a play-off defeat to Australia, while Khribin's 10 goals – including a hat-trick against Persepolis in the semi-finals – helped Al-Hilal reach the AFC Champions League final.

The women's player of the year was Samantha Kerr who enjoyed a great campaign with both the American National Women's Soccer League outfit Sky Blue FC and Australia.
The Chinese Football Association won the AFC President Recognition Award for Grassroots Football Inspiring Member Association. The vice president of the CFA, Lin Xiaohua would accept the award.
