ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack near a Shiite mosque in Afghan capital Kabul on Friday, which left at least six people killed and 16 others wounded when a suicide attacker blew himself up, Reuters reported.
The attack occurred near a mosque in the Qala-e-Fatullah neighborhood at around 1:45 p.m. local time when Friday prayers were underway in the mosque, Xinhua News Agency said, citing witnesses.
The attack came two days after a rocket attack at Kabul’s airport during a visit by US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, which caused a number of civilian casualties.
